A tape deck capable of reciprocal recording and playback of the X-series 4-track No. 10 reel.
Since it is a No. 10 reel round-trip recording/playback machine, it can record at 19 cm/s
for 3 hours and at 9.5 cm for 6 hours.
The dual capstan system is adopted as a mechanism part.
In this method, two sets of capstans and pinch rollers drive with the tape sandwiched between them, and the modulation noise is greatly reduced. In addition, since the tape tension is applied
by the slight rotation difference between the capstans, even the minute tape vibration (flutter
component) that does not appear in the catalog data is blocked.
Furthermore, because it is a symmetrical design, the same conditions as in forward can be obtained even in reverse, and uniform tape running is realized in both back and forth.
The flywheel of the Magne float method is adopted.
It is designed so that the repulsion of the magnet is used to press it against the bearing and play
does not occur in the axial direction of the capstan. This realizes stable rotation of the flywheel.
The head part consists of 6 heads, and each head for erasing/recording/playback is
independent for both round trips.
The high hardness permalloy head is adopted as a head. Moreover, in order to shorten a tape
span, the erasing head which does not affect sound quality is arranged outside the closed loop.
The amplifier circuit is designed to have a dedicated adjustment circuit for both the reciprocating
recording and playback heads, thus suppressing the difference in sound quality between forward
and reverse.
By setting a timer switch in the center of the front panel and a commercially available audio timer,
you can set timer recording in either left or right direction.
The 1-3/2-4 track selection cue mechanism is carried, and a required music can be cueed
without changing a tape.
Cueing can be performed by queuing when either the forward (1-3 track) or reverse (2-4) track
indicator lamp is lit.
It is equipped with a playback pause mechanism.
If you press the pause button after making an approximate guess in queuing, the tape touches
the head, and you can turn the reel with both hands to accurately locate the head.
Uses an electromagnetic brake.
Equipped with a motion sensing mechanism, if you press the play button directly from early winding, the electromagnetic brake will work on the reel and it will stop softly and immediately
love to play operation.
If you set the auto reverse knob, set the counter to 0000 and play the tape, you can
automatically reverse from the reverse direction to the forward direction at that position.
You can play endlessly all day by simply combining this function with auto reverse.
The Rec Mute function is carried.
It is equipped with a real-time pause function that allows a smooth rise from a recording pause.
Mixing of microphone and line is possible.
Equipped with a guide roller, it absorbs uneven running of the tape and realizes smooth
running characteristics.
The reel size selector is carried and a proper tape tension can be obtained according to the
reel size.
It is equipped with a pitch control function that works for both recording and playback.
The L/R interlocking recording mode switch is carried.
The bias and the equalizer independent switching function are carried.
It is equipped with a large VU meter.
All DC motor composition is adopted.
The dbx system can be connected. By connecting the separately sold dbx unit DX-2A,
it is possible to reduce hiss noise on the sense of hearing.
