Commentary
An open reel deck developed by putting all the technology of the Studer box into it.
The 3 motor system which used the FG servo outer rotor type DD motor for a capstan is
adopted as a mechanism part.
In addition, the chassis is made of die-cast with excellent durability.
The full logic control by the push button of a light touch is adopted as an operation system.
Designed with well-timed electromagnetic brakes and air-dumped tension arms, it reliably
supports quick mode switching.
The head assembly with 3 heads is made of a large integrated cast, and is designed with
an emphasis on high accuracy and durability.
Designed for ease of editing, the thick aluminum front plate has a flat shape.
It is also equipped with a take-up reel stop used when editing tapes and a cue button.
The input / output of the signal system is a balanced type. However, only the microphone input
on the front panel is unbalanced and can be changed to balanced as an option.
The input and output can be controlled independently by LR, but when the calibration position
is set, the gain of the input / output amplifier is fixed at 0 dB, and it can be used in
combination with other output amplifiers. Even in this state, only the headphone output can
be controlled.
