The speaker system was born after three years of improvement from the 1955S-2 announced
in 660.
It was developed through joint research with NHK Technical Research Institute.
For decades, 3S-2 was the designated name for R305 for sound quality monitoring specified
in BTS-6131, and was adopted as a standard playback by domestic and overseas broadcasting
stations, audio manufacturers, and sound laboratories.
In addition, in order to complete each part made with high technical precision as a system,
the entire process of enclosure fabrication, component assembly, and installation was done by
hand by skilled craftsmen.
The low frequency is equipped with the PW-305, a 20cm cone-shaped woofer.
The vibration system of the PW-125 is a mechanical filter that attenuates high frequencies at
a crossover frequency of 125 Hz or more, eliminating unnecessary high-pitch emission even
when no network is used.
The high frequency is equipped with the TW-1500, a 5cm cone-type tweeter.
The diaphragm of this unit has an effective vibration radius of 25 cm, and the magnetic circuit
uses an iron-cobalt alloy, which is said to have the highest saturated magnetic flux among
magnetic materials, to achieve high efficiency.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system. In addition, by bonding the thin plates of hippo and
rawan one by one and giving the outer corners rounds, the effects of diffraction phenomena on
the mid and high frequencies are prevented and the mechanical strength is also increased.
Actual measurement data in the anechoic chamber was attached to each unit.
There was also a 2S-1C (gray) for wall mounting and a 1Ω matching transformer.
There was a special caster as an optional option.
