The XL-1551 has a quick-stop (brake) mechanism.

next record.

The quartz PLL system is used for the servo circuit.
In this method, the output pulse of the generator mounted on the rotating shaft of the motor is
compared with the pulse of the crystal oscillator to detect the phase difference and maintain the
rotation speed of the motor.
In addition, in order to improve the reliability of the circuits themselves, we are working to convert
circuits to ICs, and we have adopted bipolar ICs for drive circuits and MOS-type ICs for control
circuits.
The drive circuit adopts a bidirectional drive circuit, which operates in the forward and reverse
directions. For this reason, even if the motor speed increases, the electric brake is applied in the
opposite direction, and it can respond quickly. For this reason, even when switching speeds, the

The strobe uses a single-stripe strobe that is easy to adjust, and a waveform circuit is used that
makes the stripes easy to see.
Conventional speed fine-tuning strobes generally use the frequency of a household AC power
source to irradiate. For this reason, four stripes were required for each power frequency and
speed. On top of that, the frequency fluctuation of the general award power supply is about 0.1%,
making it difficult to fine-tune it with high accuracy.
In the XL-1551, the strobe is lit by dividing the oscillation frequency of the crystal (3 MHz band)
by an electronic circuit, eliminating the influence of fluctuations in the power supply frequency.
In addition, when switching the rotation speed, it is possible to adjust with a single stripe by
changing the divider ratio (33 / 1/3 rpm: 55.5 Hz, 45 rpm: 75 Hz).
In addition, the irradiation current of the strobe is pulsed by a wave-shaping circuit, so the
strobe engraved on the outer circumference of the turntable can be clearly read.
The servo circuit has a built-in CR oscillator. For this reason, even when quartz is turned off,
the PLL (phase control) works, and excellent load-bearing and drift characteristics can be
obtained even during fine tuning.
The drive motor is a high-torque brushless DC servo hole motor, which rotates a large die-cast
aluminum turntable with a diameter of 32.4 cm and an inertial mass of 340 kg·cm2 at a constant
speed within 2/3 turn. The starting torque of this motor is 1 kg-cm.
In addition, the switching mechanism uses the functions of three Hall elements developed
independently, resulting in high signal-to-noise ratio and durability.
The tonearm uses an S-shaped pipe arm.
In addition to reducing the effective mass, this arm uses high-precision angular contact bearings
for vertical and horizontal rotation to reduce friction and achieve high sensitivity.
In addition, a 6-ton aluminum panel is used for the arm mounting base, and the inner surface of
the cabinet is also reinforced with a steel plate (6 mm thick, 700 g weight) to protect the tonearm
from feedback even during ultra-low frequency reproduction.

The cartridge is PC-330/II, which is an MM-type cartridge.
