explanation
The speaker system of the Renaissance series uses a newly developed special type unit.
For the low frequencies, it is equipped with a 25cm cone-type woofer with a Watkins-type dual
voice coil.
This unit uses a specially designed IMG cone (Kirby linear diaphragm). The diaphragm is made
of a composite of polypropylene and graphite fibers, which are injected molded at high temperatures and pressures (injection molding) to form a precise pattern from the center to the
periphery. This prevents diaphragm break-up over the entire woofer band, even under extreme
conditions, resulting in excellent characteristics. In addition, a newly designed inverted dust cap
increases strength and minimizes deformation even under high-power conditions.
The Watkins type dual voice coil has a shape in which the second voice coil is superimposed on
top of the first voice coil. The second voice coil is designed for low impedance, which suppresses
the impedance rise near the resonant frequency that occurs in a normal woofer. If this structure is
used as it is, the impedance above 100 Hz will be lower, which will swell the characteristics,
but this is solved by making the second voice coil operate only in the lower bass region near the
resonant frequency. With this structure, we have succeeded in extending the cut-off range of
conventional woofers by half an octave compared to the normal range.
The voice coil bobbin is made of heat-resistant polymadol. This method is deliberately adopted
because the transient characteristics of the driver may be affected when it comes off outside the
gap where there is no magnetic flux in the aluminum type.
The mid and low frequencies are equipped with a 15cm cone-shaped mid-bass unit.
The diaphragm is made of an IMG cone made of a special composite of graphite and
polypropylene, which acquires excellent strength and damping properties. In addition, this unit
uses a die-cast aluminum frame to reduce distortion.
The midrange is equipped with Infiniti's own special midrange, High Energy EMIM.
This unit is an improved version of EMIM and has a push-pull configuration of rare earth
neodymium that greatly reduces harmonic distortion. In addition, the voice coil gap is also
severely suppressed, which is combined with an enhanced magnetic field to achieve high output.
The diaphragm is made of Kapton, which is many times lighter than diaphragms and domes and
can withstand heat generation during large signals, and the lighter weight makes it possible to
achieve high speed. This diaphragm is suspended in a metal housing to prevent protruding and
wrinkling.
In order to maintain performance over long periods of use, the structure of the High Energy EMIM
has been completely redesigned to prevent warping and bending even in extreme temperature
conditions.
Since the conventional EMIM was designed as a dipole radiator, the audio signal was generated
on the front and rear surfaces of the EMIM and emitted into the room. In this structure, it was
possible to obtain a stage effect with depth like a live performance because of the reflection of
sound by the rear waves, but there was also a problem that it was strongly affected by the
installation environment. High in the Renaissance series Energy EMIM is placed inside the
transmission line to eliminate rear wave reflections.
In addition, High Energy EMIM does not include inductive and capacitive components, which are
easily problematic, and is effectively a resistive load, reducing sound quality degradation.
The high frequency range is equipped with Infiniti's own special tweeter, High Energy EMIT.
This unit is an improved version of EMIT, with a lightweight and robust Kapton diaphragm and a
push-pull rare-earth neodymium magnet for high efficiency and low distortion.
In addition, a new design is used for the vertical opening surface at the front, which improves
horizontal and vertical diffusion.
The network section uses a fourth-order link-with-relay split network circuit that emphasizes
transmission characteristics.
The mid and high range signal paths use top-of-the-line polypropylene capacitors. In addition,
he coil is precisely adjusted by a bridge under strict specifications.
All low-frequency cables in the network are made of thick wires, and are directly connected
between two points where a high current flows.
The enclosure is designed to reduce temporal smearing caused by diffraction effects.
The front baffle surface is positioned with the mid and high range drivers for a smooth transition
between the driver and the baffle. In addition, the corners of the enclosure are rounded and
sharply tapered towards the back.
In addition, the detachable front grille is designed to allow high frequencies to circulate and diffuse
around the rear without resistance.
The speaker terminals are gold-plated brass terminals that are also bi-amplified.
In addition, for the best signal transmission, the jumpers are also made of thick-walled gold-plated
brass.
