A record player developed by incorporating all of DENON player technology, from the
broadcasting station player to the DP-100M.
The DP-59L is equipped with an auto-lift mechanism.
The auto-lift mechanism adopts a non-contact structure that does not affect the rotation
accuracy and arm sensitivity. The detection of the record end is a unique method that
combines two methods, optical position detection and speed detection using magnetic
properties, to protect the needle tip and record.
The turntable has a diameter of 32.5 cm, a wall thickness of 7 mm, and a weight of 2.2 kg.
The drive motor uses an AC servo motor with a low center of gravity design.
The shaft of this motor is given a thick diameter of 10 mm, which provides solid support for
the heavy turntable.
The servo circuit uses bidirectional servo DENON quartz.
In order to maximize the phase control of the quartz PLL circuit, DENON quartz uses
a magnetic recording detection method, which is a high-precision speed control mechanism.
This method detects 1,000 magnetic pulses on the outer circumference of the turntable, which
is the easiest to grasp speed changes, and checks 555.55 times per second (at 33 1/3 turns), making it the most precise mechanism for rotation control. This high-precision speed detection
and phase control by crystal oscillation suppresses small variations in rotation speed and at
the same time achieves rotational accuracy with a rotation speed deviation of 0.002%.
The two-way servo DENON quartz on the DP-59L provides a quick response not only when
the rotation is delayed, but also when it is too fast. As a result, the speed is stabilized at the
specified speed even when changing from 45 rpm to 33 1/3 rpm, and the electronic brake also
has a smooth braking effect.
The tonearm uses a dynamic servo tracer.
The infrasound produced by the warping and eccentricity of records is hidden in the ultra-low
frequency range, which is mainly composed of about 6 Hz or less. This ultra-low frequency
component can be prevented from reproducing noise by setting the low-frequency resonant
frequency (fo: about 10 Hz) by using a light-mass arm. However, when a high-compliance
cartridge is used, the body of the cartridge itself shakes due to the warping and eccentricity of
the record around the low-frequency resonance frequency, and the output is large.
In order to eliminate the increase in crosstalk and infrasound caused by this, it is equipped with
an electronic Q-dump mechanism. In addition, the Q-dump mechanism and the light mass arm
eliminate the effects of record warping and eccentricity.
The arm uses a newly developed light-mass straight arm.
This arm uses a light-mass arm pipe with a diameter of about 1.3 times that of the fulcrum
with improved accuracy, bringing out the performance of the cartridge with light needle
pressure and high compliance.
The lead wire of the arm pipe uses litz wire made of 11 oxygen-free copper wires twisted
together, and the cross-sectional area is 3~4 times that of conventional wires, and the internal
resistance is kept low.
It is equipped with a pitch control function.
The speed can be changed to ±9.9% at a pitch of 0.1%.
Operability is enhanced by a liquid crystal display counter.
The cabinet is made of a heavy-duty wooden cabinet with a height of 11 cm.
