An auto-reversing deck developed with the aim of being top-class in terms of both sound and
function.
The reverse mechanism is a brushed-up version of the A.R.H.S 3-head mechanism, which is
a rotating head system.
The rotary reverse mechanism uses the same head in both directions for reciprocation, which
is extremely advantageous in terms of electrical characteristics, and the best position can be
set regardless of the direction of the head azimuth. However, in order to achieve this, the rotated
head must always be in a certain position precisely. This mechanism uses micron-order precision
machining die-casting for the rotating head holder bearing part, and uses high-durability and
high-precision alumina ceramic for positioning to achieve accurate head azimuth and head
position accuracy in both directions. In addition, carefully selected ultra-precision miniature
bearings are used for the bearing part to achieve precise and smooth operation.
The reversal operation detects the tape end by a reflective IR sensor, and realizes a quick
reverse operation with almost no interruption in sound.
The head is equipped with three PCOCC-wound high-hardness permalloy combination heads
to ensure high performance in both recording and playback.
The erasing head uses a double gap type of sendust guard.
The mechanism is equipped with an E.M hysteresis tension servo with improved driving
performance.
In this method, the reel speed is detected by an IR photoreflector, and the torque is
electrically controlled without contact, so that the optimum back tension is always maintained
regardless of the direction of travel or the amount of tape wound. The E.M hysteresis servo,
the A.R.H.S mechanism, and the three recording and playback combinations achieve uniform
characteristics and sound quality in both directions.
The capstan is equipped with a high-precision large flywheel (inertial mass of 1100 g/cm3)
to obtain stable running characteristics.
All regenerative amplifiers such as equalizer amplifiers use an all-DC amplifier with direct
coupling in a two-power configuration± By eliminating capacitors from the signal system,
the characteristics are improved in all bands, including low frequencies.
In addition, the power supply section has been enhanced by increasing the power supply capacity,
and the Dolby circuit has also been greatly increased to support digital sources and other sources
with a wide dynamic range.
In order to eliminate the effects of modulation noise caused by micro-vibrations of the cassette
halves, an anti-static cassette stabilizer is installed.
The arm of this stabilizer uses a three-layer structure of 3mm thick aluminum to prevent
self-resonance. In addition, the system is equipped with a special high-conductivity pad that
has an antistatic effect on the half, and the pad that is always in contact with the half prevents
half charging and greatly reduces problems such as dropouts that are likely to occur due to
dust attracted by static electricity. In addition, the special pads also have a shock-absorbing
effect.
The internal structure adopts a completely shielded independent structure.
The circuit part is housed in a die-cast aluminum sealed case, and the recording volume,
amplifier part, power supply, and display are separated by the inner chassis. As a result,
the generation of noise due to internal mutual interference is thoroughly suppressed.
In addition, the use of wire rods is reduced by designing straight circuits that connect each
circuit with the shortest distance along the signal path.
In addition to high rigidity and vibration damping by integrating the dedicated chassis of the
driving mechanism and the bottom chassis, the overall rigidity is enhanced by the dedicated
inner chassis of each part. In addition, by integrating with the inverted U-shaped bonnet,
the influence of external vibration is eliminated.
In addition, the top panel of the bonnet is equipped with a vibration damping sheet and is
equipped with side woods that further enhance the vibration damping effect to deal with all kinds
of vibrations.
The legs are equipped with insulators made of a special alloy with high specific gravity with
high internal loss and high speed of sound.
It is powered by Dolby HX Pro.
Dolby HX Pro always provides the optimal bias according to the input signal to prevent
deterioration of the high-frequency characteristics during recording.
Equipped with a high-rigidity double-lock cassette holder, the occurrence of resonance in the
holder part is suppressed, and the cassette is securely locked to prevent rattling and vibration
due to floating.
In this method, a 1.6 mm thick iron plate is used for the holder part to increase rigidity and
achieve non-co-evolution. In addition, a triangle cassette support system with a three-point
support system is also adopted, which eliminates floating and rattling caused by warping of
the half, which was unavoidable with the four-point support.
A reel base with a built-in dynamic torque damper is used to absorb torque fluctuations caused
by the reel motor in the bearing part of the reel.
An audio capacitor manufactured by Ernst Raeder Stein, which is particular about sound quality,
is used in the power supply section.
The power cable uses a high-capacity type (12A) power cord made of OFC material with
polarity indication.
It is equipped with Dolby B/C NR as a noise reduction system.
It is equipped with blank scanning, which allows you to fast-forward the unrecorded part and
start playback from the next song.
It is equipped with CD direct input.
It is equipped with a CPS that allows you to skip over 15 songs.
It is equipped with functions such as auto monitor, auto tape selector, and auto wreck mute.
The display can be turned on and off.
It comes with a wireless remote control.
