Overview
A stereo cassette deck featuring a one-way, discrete 3-head system.
The
mechanism features an improved two-motor full-logic control mechanism with an independent
capstan motor. The
TD-V66 uses a large flywheel that doubles the inertia mass. Additionally, parts such as the
capstan shaft and pinch roller have been finely reviewed for accuracy, and the slabizer weight
suppresses minor vibrations in the reel.
The
head block is an independent 3-head structure and is firmly mounted with a solid casting housing
for vibration isolation.
The signal system uses OFC (oxygen-free copper) material, which has high transmission
efficiency.
By fully converting signal lines from the recording and playback head windings to the lead
wires and the main board, pure signal transmission is pursued.
Signal circuits such as recording, playback, and headphone amplifiers use DC amplifier
configurations to minimize capacitors that are prone to distortion, noise, and phase changes.
Additionally, to enhance stability in the DC configuration, a tracking power supply is adopted in
the power supply section, where the positive and negative sides work together to keep
the ground potential always at zero. Additionally, a constant voltage circuit is employed that
lowers output impedance to about 1/100th of conventional models through shunt regulator control.
The
recording head uses an SA head with a high maximum magnetic flux density.
The main circuits use stacked film capacitors with excellent high-frequency characteristics
and minimal sound quality degradation caused by electrode vibrations.
Additionally, the input and output pin jacks are gold-plated to prevent changes over time.
It is equipped with a digital peak function that displays the maximum
input level on the FL display via microcontroller control. The peak duration is about 2 seconds,
with 1dB stepping from +1dB to 11dB displayed, OVER 12 for 12dB or above, and UNDER0
for 0dB or less.
The maximum value can be remembered and called anytime with the CALL button, allowing
for high-precision level setting by directly comparing it with the dB scale on the recording fader.
