Commentary
A CD / MD deck capable of 4x speed dubbing.
4x speed dubbing is possible from CD to MD with a simple operation. It is also possible to
perform 4x speed dubbing in the order of songs programmed on the CD player side.
With MXD-D3, the same song cannot be recorded at side 4x speed within 74 minutes from
the start of 4x speed recording by HCMS (High Speed Copy Management System).
Equipped with a REC IT function, if you press the REC IT button on the remote control while listening to a CD, the CD will automatically return to the beginning of the song and start
recording to the MD.
The 2-digit display is adopted, and the playing time and the remaining time of a compact disk
can be displayed for each. You can also view both CD / MD time information at the same time.
The wide bit stream technology is adopted as an MD deck part, and the recording / playback
with a wide dynamic range equivalent to 20 bits exceeding 16 bits which is an MD format is
taken into consideration. Moreover, the hybrid pulse D / A converter is adopted as a compact
disk player part.
It is equipped with a smart space function.
The sampling rate converter which automatically converts each sampling frequency of 32kHz
and 48kHz to 44.1kHz is carried.
The digital REC level control is carried and the gain can be controlled from -12dB to the
maximum +12dB around 0dB.

input system is carried.
Equipped with a pitch control function, you can listen by changing the playback speed (pitch).

The time machine recording function is carried, and if a multi-jog dial is pressed in
a sound-recording pause state, it can go back to the sound up to 6 seconds ago and record on
an optical disc.

You can edit songs such as split (DIVIDE), concatenation (COMBINE), and move (MOVE). It
also has an undo function that allows you to cancel the last editing operation if you make a mistake.
It is equipped with a rehearsal function that allows you to check the editing points in
COMBINE and DIVIDE. To move the edit point, you can fine-tune the edit point of DIVIDE
in minutes, seconds, and frames (about 0.012 seconds).
The time for one frame is 0.023 seconds in MDLP LP2 mode / monaural mode and 0.047
seconds in LP4 mode.
The AB ERASE function which can erase between the specified two points in one song is
carried.
It is equipped with a title function that can record disc names and song titles up to
approximately 1,700 characters on the disc.
In addition to alphabets, numbers, and symbols, it also supports katakana characters, so you
can input from the main unit or remote control even during recording / playback.

Digital recording is possible only for one generation by SCMS (serial copy management system),
and digital recording for the second and subsequent generations is not possible. However,
when recording from CS broadcasting, it may not be possible to record depending on the
program.
