A record player developed by Yamaha's high-precision processing technology.
The mechanism adopts a belt drive system using a 30cm die-cast aluminum turntable and
a synchronous outer rotor motor.
In addition, to reduce unnecessary vibrations, the entire player mechanism is suspended
using Yamaha's unique double float suspension system. In this system, the turntable and
tonearm are integrated and floated from the player panel, and the motor part is also floated,
making it a double suspension mechanism that blocks external vibrations and motor vibrations.
The arm uses a light alloy S-shaped pipe arm with a solid structure without resonance, and
is designed with high tracing ability with little tracking error and sharp sensitivity in both
horizontal and vertical movements. It also comes with direct reading needle pressure
adjustment and subweights for heavyweight cartridges.
In addition, it has lateral weights for left-right equilibrium balance around the tonearm axis and
a thread-suspended anti-skater that cancels inside force.
The headshell adopts the international standard plug-in replacement method. The contacts of
this headshell are gold-plated to reduce poor contact.
The cartridge is MC type Shure M2 series.
An overhang indicator lamp is provided to indicate the correct overhang for the cartridge.
This ensures that even if the cartridge is replaced, the needle tip can be aligned with this
indicator lamp to obtain the correct overhang.
It is equipped with an automatic mechanism to improve operability.
This mechanism is a mechanism that mixes the good points of manual and auto, and
can be auto-started and auto-cut by operating only a switch that combines the two functions
of Play and Off, and manual start is also possible.
It has a built-in queuing mechanism that allows you to pause the record performance or replay
it from the middle.
The gentle movement of the silicone hydraulic cylinder prevents the record from being damaged.
There were two cabinet finishes: the YP-75 with Brazilian rosewood finish and the YP-2C
with castor open-pore finish that is unified with Yamaha's New Line Compo.
In addition, the acrylic cover has a free hinge system that can be fixed at any angle, and the
YP-700C also allows the acrylic cover to be attached and detached.
