Record player using DC servo DD motor and high-sensitivity S-shaped pipe arm.
There were two types: the PL-1400 with a cartridge and the PL-1400C without a cartridge.
The drive unit adopts a direct drive system, and the motor uses an ultra-low-speed brushless
DC servo motor to drive a heavyweight turntable with a high flywheel effect.
The control circuit uses a pure electronic control circuit composed of transistors and diodes.
As a result, the rotation speed once set is automatically controlled (servo) and a constant
rotation is obtained regardless of fluctuations in ambient temperature and power supply voltage.
The speed can be switched by a constant electronic type of electronic circuit, and the speed can
be fine-tuned independently within the range of ±2% while looking at the stroboscope engraved
on the turntable. In addition, since the motor is driven by converting the AC power supply to DC
by a constant voltage circuit, there is no need to change the pulley for each power frequency.
The tonearm uses a newly designed S-shaped tonearm.
Cartridges with a dead weight of up to 33g~1g can be attached without subweights, and it is
possible to trace 3.45g ultra-light needle pressure performance and discrete 2ch differential
signal components.
In addition, the headshell is specially cushioned with rubber cushions to reduce resonance and
modulation distortion.
The cabinet is a reinforced anti-vibration cabinet with a double structure that combines a metal
base and natural wood. This reduces external vibrations and vibrations from the floor,
and suppresses feedback.
It also uses a large insulator that allows you to adjust the level of the player body.
The PL-4 comes with the PC-32E, an MM-type cartridge.
The tip of the needle uses a 0.5x4.2 mil elliptical contact diamond needle, which reduces
the weight of the vibration system (effective mass 1400.330 mg) to improve sound quality.
