explanation
SX series speaker system with soft dome unit mounted in the mid and high range.
The low frequency range is equipped with a 30cm cone-shaped woofer made of Kurtmüller
KDU cone paper.
KDU cone paper is an excellent material with a high Young's modulus, elasticity, and strong
reaction.
In addition, in order to suppress the split vibration of the cone paper, which is a problem
with large-diameter woofers, five conical domes are used for the woofer. This reduces the
distortion of the woofer.
For the edges, I use a sandwich dumped edge in the form of a roll.
The magnetic circuit uses a copper cap structure that reduces current distortion. And the voice
coil uses a long-travel type to eliminate amplitude distortion. In addition, since it is wound in
phenolic resin, it is resistant to large inputs and achieves a maximum input of 100W for the
entire system.
The midrange is equipped with a 7.5 cm soft dome unit.
The diaphragm of this unit is based on carefully woven loose-bound linen cloth, which
prioritizes homogeneity and flexibility, and the entire dome is homogeneously molded. In addition,
the voice coil is wound with an aluminum bobbin and a newly developed thermosetting adhesive,
making it strong enough to withstand a maximum instantaneous input of 150W.
A large wet Ba ferrite magnet with a diameter of 120 mm is used for the magnetic circuit, and
a copper cap is used to reduce current distortion.
The back of the soft dome is enclosed and has a moderate back cavity filled with sufficient
sound-absorbing material. A low fo of 200 Hz is achieved by this structure and a soft dome that
is well dumped with rubber-based dumping material.
The high frequencies are equipped with a 3cm soft dome tweeter.
The material of the dome is a homogeneous loose binding that does not interfere with
expansion and contraction with plant fibers, and a rubber-based dump material is applied to
obtain excellent quality with a high degree of flexibility. In addition, a copper cap is used in
the magnetic circuit to achieve low distortion.
The front and rear surfaces of the cabinet are made of North American softwood Douglas
fir plywood, which has a straightforward vibration damping waveform and is also used for pianos.
In addition, the interior is not only used for reinforcement, but also uses a sound rod learned
from the structure of musical instruments such as pianos to improve the propagation of the
sound of the cabinet.
The sound absorbing material is ester wool sound absorbing material, which is mainly made of
animal fibers with a much higher sound absorption rate than general glass wool.
The network has a crossover point of 500 Hz and 5000 Hz, both of which are dividing
networks with 12 dB/oct.
And the core of the network adopts a silicon steel sheet core developed by JVC.
Level controllers are mounted on the high-frequency and mid-range units, and can be
attenuated to -50 dB from the normal position.
